During Health Questions this morning David Morris MP asked to Health Minister Philip Dunne MP:
‘“Can I welcome the recent budget announcement of billions more funding for the NHS, and in particular the extra support preparing for this winter, and can say what share of this winter funding my local hospital will obtain?”
In response Minister for Health Philip Dunne MP said:
‘My Hon friend needs to be congratulated in this House as a champion of University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust. A Trust which has gone through some difficulty and he has stuck with it and supported the Trust. And I can confirm to him that up to £2 Million pounds was allocated to Morecambe Bay Trust last Friday. And I congratulate them on that and I am sure he will join me on congratulating the Trust on becoming the 8th most inclusive employer in the UK in a recent award.’
Speaking following questions David Morris MP said:
‘ I am delighted that the Government have listened to the strong case put forward by Chief Executive Jackie Daniel and my sustained lobbying on this matter and awarded the Trust £2 million pounds to help with winter pressures. This funding will help the staff at the Trust continue to deliver first class care during the busy winter period.
I also want to congratulate all of the staff at the Trust for being awarded the 8th most inclusive employer in the UK’
