‘Morecambe has no better local champion than you. The work you have done over the last few years has been incredible. I’m really excited to have come here to see this project for myself. The plans that you have got. I am pleased you have always been backing feasibility funding. It is exactly the kind of thing I think Morecambe needs to go from strength to strength’
Speaking following the visit by the Chancellor to the Midland Hotel today Conservative Candidate for Morecambe and Lunesdale David Morris said:
‘I am delighted that the Chancellor has taken the time to come and see for himself the Eden Project site in Morecambe and to see how vital the project will be to the economic future of our town. I have been constantly badgering the Chancellor for the funding and I am delighted that ahead of the next budget when the economic case will be considered the Chancellor now has first hand experience of the site when he judges the economic argument for funding.’
