David Morris accompanied pupils from Skerton Community High School earlier this afternoon to 10 Downing Street to deliver a petition to keep the school open.
Lancashire County Council is currently consulting on the future of the school. The first part of the consultation closed on Friday. The petition has been signed by thousands of people who would like the school to remain open.
Representatives from the School community will meet with Education Minister Lord Nash later this afternoon and David Morris will present the petition to the House of Commons at around 5pm.
David Morris MP said:
“It was a privilege and honour to accompany these young people to Downing Street and giving them an opportunity to have their voices heard at the highest of offices.”
“Later today I will present the petition to the House of Commons and meet with Lord Nash.”
