The Morecambe & Lunesdale MP David Morris today unveiled a plaque in memory of Dame Thora Hird in her hometown of Morecambe. The plaque is fixed to the outside wall of the Eric Bartholomew pub.
Speaking from Morecambe David Morris said:
“It was nice to see so many people come along and cheer on Thora, it was a very enjoyable day and I am pleased we now have a plaque to Dame Thora right here in Morecambe.
Dame Thora Hird’s Granddaughter Daisy Throme said from her home in Hollywood, California:
"On behalf of my entire family, we are very happy for any tribute that shines a spotlight on the long lifetime of incredible work my grandmother did...especially in her beloved Morecambe!"
