David Morris MP met with Secretary of State for Education Damien Hinds MP earlier today to discuss the need for funding at Bay Leadership Academy to improve the fabric of the building. Damien Hinds MP announced that the school would be allocated £455,532 from the Department for Education to allow for capital work to be carried out. The funding allows for building renovations to take place at the school such as roof and window repairs, playground re-surfacing and heating system repairs.
The School has also been allocated £18,012 from the annual devolved formula capital allocation.
Speaking following the announcement David Morris MP said:
‘I met with the team at the Bay Leadership Academy a couple of weeks ago and they briefed me on the programme of works they were looking at funding to carry out. I was able to brief Secretary of State Damien Hinds on this and met with him this morning where he was able to announcement this huge amount of funding for the school. I am delighted that this funding has been allocated and that the Government is giving the school the resources they need not just to improve the education of the children who go there but to improve the environment of the buildings they are taught in.’
