The A5015 has been awarded £929,000 from the Government for road safety improvements. David Morris MP has been working with the Government to secure improvements on the road which starts at the junction of Broadway and runs up through Coastal Road to the junction of Main Road in Bolton Le Sands.
This funding announced was from the third round of the Safer Roads Fund. 27 new schemes will be delivered across the Country as part of this scheme.
Lancashire County Council will now need to work to complete a plan for the road improvements which typically would include: Vehicle activated speed signs, vegetation clearance, LED Cats-eyes, Vehicle restraint systems. Full details of the whole scheme will be published in the new year when Lancashire County Council have developed the full plan.
